Powder Puff Pains

Flavored Body Powder? How unoriginal! The Fashioneatsa has been powdering with flavors for DECADES. And now they all want to jump on the bandwagon, with funky flavors at $25 a pop.

Just wait until The Fashioneatsa lauches her own cosmetics line, it'll blow their socks off. But really, we all are just eating up fashion, why sugar coat it?

And the brandname "Urban Decay." I hope they're just trying to reel in the "bad girl" crowd that really isn't bad at all, they just want the boys to think they're good in bed. Because if they're making some sort of statement about the state of fashion, I'd have to say it was more of a Beauty Revival these days. It only takes a glance at evening tele where pretty girls are getting made over every evening with the latest products... definitely a victory for cosmetics of all sorts, whether in powder or scalpel form!

Pamper Your Peppers, Please

Fresh Puckered Peppers

As I'm sure you all know, the most fashionable holiday of all is nearly upon us... my goodness, only 4 days left!

On the advice of Chef Chin, I went out and bought myself a peck of puckered peppers. (Well, not really a peck, that would be rather a lot of puckers to primp, but I couldn't resist the alliteration obligation!) Apparently, they're the hot item for Valentine's dinners this year.

According to Chef Chin's directions, you're supposed to steam'em and stuff'em. Being a good little Fashioneatsa, and trying very hard to broaden my edible horizons with the latest food fashion, I gave it a try. But darling, nothing prepared me for the awful gaping that blanching brought on. How unfashionable!

Personally, I think I prefer my peppers properly primped, with no unseemly hanging about with unhinged jaws. Keep to the brighter colors to maximize contrast with the dark green, and definitely gloss, not matte! Raw is quite fashionable now, I think... like the french say, "Vive les crudites!"

A Luscious Lipstick Confection

Well, Darlings, I've just spent a lovely afternoon dressing up a pair of partridges and fashioning some savory side dishes, but I must say the dessert was definitely the most delectable part of the evening.

You must try it. Absolutely delightful!

It really is quite simple, dears. Start out with a bit of fresh cream-- say, 2/3 of a cup, one nice sized vanilla bean pod, and 100 ccs of collagen (don't skimp, it adds volume), and scald it over a medium flame. Then dissolve 2/3 cup of fine white granulated sugar and allow it to cool thoroughly. In the meantime, prepare your lipsticks. This is easiest if they are good and cold, so be sure to store them in the freezer until you are ready to use them. Separate the sticks from their packaging, dip each in sugar syrup, and set on a rack to drain. Separate 8 eggs, and whip them to stiff peaks. In a separate bowl, whip the cream until light and fluffy (remove the vanilla bean first, of course!). Fold together the whipped cream and whites. To assemble, layer the sugared lipsticks alternately with the cream mixture, ending with the cream. I like to reserve my favorite lipstick for a final garnish.

Bon Appetit!

Lip-Plumping Good!

Darlings, I just wanted to share my latest discovery with you! Collagen casings!

You see, for years I've been searching for a fashionable sausage, and now I can make my own! And collagen is really the perfect material-- so versatile-- they are using those new fangled synthetics for injectable lip plumping these days, but I was always a fan of the natural kind. I definitely prefer the cosmetics in my diet to be all-natural, even if they do come from a dead cow.

I filled mine with lipstick, but you could also try one of the numerous flavored glosses on the market!
